Inspired by traditional workwear of the early fifties, the practical and hardwearing Foreman is an unlined utilitarian jacket made to take charge. Features a boxy cut, 2 piece sleeves, a neat square collar, 2 hip pockets and one breast pocket. Can be optionally top-stitched in contrasting thread.
This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including sizes 36 - 46. There's no reason why this couldn't be worn by women either!
Merchant and Mills' sample has been made using their Ink 12.5oz denim, but you could just as easily make it in an 8oz denim, lighter weight canvas, or strong twill for the same sort of look. Corduroy, moleskin or tweed will give a softer interpretation. The model is a size 44. The other sample is made using the organic 10oz denim, shown here washed with contrast top stitching.
