  • Nani Iro Fabrics

Naomi Ito is the Japanese artist and textile designer behind the Nani Iro fabric collection from Kokka. Her subtly beautiful, watercolour style designs lend themselves perfectly to the gorgeous fabrics they are printed on. Whether soft, double gauze cotton, blended linen or sumptuous brushed cotton, they are fabric must-haves and will inspire endless project possibilities. Have a look at her website here to see more of her artwork and at the Kokka site for lots of project ideas.

We've added to our stock of Nani Iro Prints recently and they're proving to be very popular in the shop. See the full range here.

  • New Minikrea Patterns

    minikrea

We have been looking for a while for an affordable range of children's patterns and are very taken with the styling and simplicity of these from Danish company Minikrea. Their new line of sewing patterns for babies, toddlers and children uses classic designs and offers lots of ideas for adding your own tweaks and adjustments.

The patterns are Danish with English instructions included with the pattern pieces which are printed on good quality paper so you can easily trace and reuse them. Minikrea have used lovely fabric for their modelled versions which scores highly in our book - and the models are v v cute!

We've made a couple of them up and are very pleased with the results. Take a look at all the styles here - we think you'll like them. Minikrea Children's patterns £11.50 each.

  • Introducing our patchwork class

    IMG_2091

Our Introduction to Patchwork class is ideal if you've always wanted to make your own quilts or have a large stash of fabric at home that needs using up.  A handmade quilt is also lovely present for someone who is expecting a baby - a baby quilt being a small and do-able place to start!

In the single patchwork session class you'll learn how to select fabric, use a rotary cutter and piece your fabrics. You'll also be guided on your design and get tips on how to develop your patchworked piece into a quilt. (£42, fabric included)

Alternatively we have a double session class in which you will go through the whole process of quilt making and leave with a finished quilt. (£90, wadding and backing fabric included)

Have a look at the timetable to find out the class dates. You can book your class online, drop in the shop, or call us on 020 7704 1060.

  • 100% Wool Fabric

    woolfabric

We've had lots of inspiring stories in the Ray Stitch shop from customers buying this 100% wool fabric.  A Colette Ginger skirt, a series of patchwork cushions, elbows on tweed jackets and even jewellery making! We love the sophisticated colour palette and really believe it's worth every penny, touching is believing!
