  • Improv patchwork class with Lucie Summers of 'Summersville'

    lucieimprovblock2

Throw away the rulebook in this fun and informal workshop with Lucie Summers of 'Summersville.' Lucie will show you how to make an improv  block using different pieced elements (including curves, half square triangles and 'string' blocks) to create an interesting and visually exciting piece of patchwork. Use what you learn during the workshop as a springboard to create a larger piece of work, or simply quilt and bind your smaller block as a work or art.

As an added bonus in the class you will be using a selection of Lucie's new prints developed with Moda, as well as solid colours. These fabrics can also be mixed with others from the Ray Stitch shop, or from your own collection. That's what makes improv so exciting - the mix!

Dates: Sat 26th May, 12 - 4.30pm (please note this is a one off workshop which won't be repeated, so please book early to avoid disappointment)

Cost: £70 including lunch and all materials.

Lucie Summers is a textile designer who screen prints all her own designs, she has a lovely blog and etsy shop which you can see here...  http://www.blu-shed.blogspot.co.uk/

  • Lisette Dress Pattern in Organic Cotton

    listte news

The Lisette patterns are going well in the shop just now, particularly 2246 Traveler Dresses.

Perhaps it has a seasonal appeal - as in we're feeling ready for dresses but not quite summery ones - and it's certainly a versatile choice; you can make it up either as a straight down, belted shirt dress or with a gathered waist and a cute collar and short sleeves.

We had a new organic crossweave colour and some new organic checks in recently and were keen to sample them, hence these two versions of 2246. The cotton fabrics work really well with both styles but we think just about anything would work, watch this space for voile and linen versions coming soon.

Lisette 2246 £11.50. Dress requires 2.5 metres of fabric.

    Organic Checks and Stripes. £12/m.

    Organic Cotton Crossweave - £9/m.
