Session: 1

Price:
£62.00

Time: 2.00pm - 6.00pm

Level: Beginner Plus

Maximum Class Size: 6

Our Freestyle sewing and dressmaking workshops are the perfect solution for those who either need some help with a project they have on the go or want to make or learn something specific that we don’t cover in any of the group classes.

Level: These classes aren't for complete beginners, students must have a good understanding of how to thread up and use a sewing machine.

Come along and set aside some dedicated sewing time with the luxury of spreading out your project, using our tools & machinery and not having to tidy up afterwards! These tutor led workshops are designed for those who would benefit from some guidance for their sewn project from one of our qualified teachers. During these weekly daytime or evening sessions you can enjoy the company of like minded people in a friendly environment. We welcome all projects, bring anything from an untouched pattern to half made garments to vintage alterations. We can guarantee our teacher will be able to tackle anything!

If you want to start something new that includes techniques you haven’t tried before and would like to book onto a few consecutive classes then you can book three Freestyle Classes for a discount. Use the code 3FREESTYLE to receive 10% off the total.

Tools, machinery and refreshments are provided. Booking onto one of our classes entitles you to 10% off everything in store on the day of the class.

If you are already a group of 6 sewers and would like to book onto 6 weekly classes then please get in touch and we can arrange a time a teacher to suit your club.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHER

Penny Follows has sewn since an early age, indeed she does not remember a time when she didn’t sew! She was fortunate enough to have a mother who was a skilled needlewoman and who created all sorts of stylish clothes for herself and Penny. Penny was encouraged to sew for herself by her mother and two grandmothers, one of whom was a tailoress. Penny worked with Janome as a sewing consultant at John Lewis and taught machine sewing at their flagship store in Oxford Street for a number of years. Penny joined our team of teachers at Ray Stitch in 2016 and leads a variety of workshops, sharing her passion and enthusiasm for sewing and making clothes. She combines teaching with running her own business called The Village Seamstress taking most pleasure in creating bespoke garments for clients.
