Ray Stitch Presents An Evening of Fashion & Design with Vogue Pattern Designer Kathryn Brenne - A top selling Vogue pattern designer, teacher, contributing editor to Vogue Pattern’s Sewing Today magazine and writer for the on line fabric retailer Emma One Sock.

Join Kathryn Brenne at Ray Stitch for an evening lecture discussing and demonstrating some common alterations to help you achieve a better fit.

Beginning with a full set of measurements, Kathryn will demonstrate how and where measurements should be taken. She will discuss how measurements relate to a commercial pattern and how to determine sizing. We will discuss design ease vs. wearing ease.

Pattern alteration requires accuracy. Kathryn will discuss the supplies and tools she uses to make accurate pattern adjustments. Using personal measurements as a guide, Kathryn will demonstrate common alterations and the sequence in which, they should be done. Lengthening/shortening, a full bust adjustment and tips for trousers will be discussed.

Attendees will receive copies of Kathryn’s published articles including her measurement chart and full bust adjustment.

One of the industry’s most prolific writers, Kathryn has written articles for Vogue Pattern’s Sewing Today, THREADS, Butterick Home Catalogue, Consumers Digest,  Sew News and has appeared in two episodes of Sew Much More on Home & Garden Television (HGTV).  With her extensive knowledge of fabrics and sewing techniques Kathryn is a popular instructor at various workshops across Canada, the US and more recently the UK.

This two hour event begins with a 30 minute reception with free drinks and snacks followed by an hour’s talk and then a 30 minute Q and A at the end.
