Merchant and Mills Menswear - The Tee Shirt

The T shirt is probably the world's most popular garment, presented here as a smart, contemporary evolution of a wardrobe staple. Merchant and Mills' men's Tee Shirt is a smart combination of a woven fabric with a stretch rib neck, a breast pocket and optional rolled up sleeves. Though there's no reason why this couldn't also work in stretch fabric, but bear in mind to alter the stretch needed for the ribbing.

This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including sizes 36 - 46.

Ideal for laundered linen, but soft cottons, light weight denim and soft wools would also work well. The fabric in the picture is our Silt Grey laundered linen with a colour-matched rib. Their first model wears a size 44. The smaller model wear white linen and rib that has been dyed. Other styles show double gauze, khadi and brushed cotton flannel (at the end).

Note: They have used a cotton elastane 2x2 rib cuff that comfortably stretches by half again. If using an alternative rib, check the stretch on a 10cm measurement. If it stretches less than 15cm, cut with a generous seam allowance (5cm) and to be safe, pin, tack and try on.
