During this daytime workshop you will learn and improve your construction techniques such as sewing darts, facing a waist, attaching pockets and inserting a concealed zip. You will also learn how to alter the pattern to fit your shape and measurements to create a great fit. Your experienced sewing teacher with guide you step by step to help you achieve your first successful pair of self made trousers!

You can choose from two patterns that we have carefully selected, which offer you the choice of a tapered leg or wide leg trouser, both styles have side-front faced pockets and a centre back concealed zip.

Materials: Sewing machines, tools & sundry notions are included however you are required to bring fabric for your trousers. We suggest that you pre wash your fabric at 30-40 degrees to avoid shrinkage after your garment has been made up. Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout your class.

Fabric Recommendations:

Choose a light-medium weight fabric such as lawn, poplin, or crepe for a summer weight drapey trouser, or for all seasons choose washed linen, crossweave, cotton chambray. You could also go for something heavier, especially with the tapered leg trouser such as needlecord, twill, gaberdine or denim. So there are lots of options!

Please Note: We offer 10% off items bought in our shop in preparation for your class and for 2 weeks after. Please ask a member of staff for help when choosing fabric for your garment and we’ll be happy to assist!
