Your cushion cover can be made to fit an existing cushion pad that you want to cover, or use our standard sizing if you prefer.

Level: Students for this class must be able to thread up and use a sewing machine, you can book onto our 3 hour session: Introduction to Machine Sewing Part 1 in order to get to the right entry level for this workshop.

The objective of this class is to improve your confidence in using the sewing machine and introduce you to more complex techniques as well as measuring up and creating custom patterns and handling upholstery weight fabrics.

You will cover the following techniques in class:

  • How to draft a custom pattern

  • Making piping

  • Finishing seams

  • Insert a channel zip

  • Constructing your cushion

  • If you already have a cushion that you would like to create the cover for then we ask that students email with the exact measurements for the pad. We can then let you know how much fabric you will need to bring.

Materials: Tools, equipment and refreshments are provided however you are required to bring your own fabric.

Booking a class at Ray Stitch entitles you to 10% off everything in-store and our team are happy to help and advise on fabric choice.
