Learn new sewing techniques and make a fully lined bomber jacket in this two part workshop. This casual jacket can be made unique with your designer input, colour block the sleeves, add patches, badges or embroidery. It's a versatile style that can be worn all year round, and after you've made it once you'll want to try out a variety of different fabrics!

This pattern comes in UK sizes 6-24, you will start the workshop by taking a couple of body measurements to choose which size to cut. After cutting and preparing your fabric for sewing our expert teacher will guide you through garment construction processes involved with making this bomber that might be new to you. During the workshop you will be demonstrated a skill set that will enhance your sewing to help you get the most professional finish for your garment and and make you feel more confident when using other sewing patterns.

Level: This class is suitable for confident machine sewers who are already experimenting with making their own clothes, using commercial sewing patterns or otherwise. This course is ideal for students looking to develop their technical skills in making clothes.

You will cover the following techniques in class:

  • In seam pockets

  • Attaching lining

  • Attaching ribbing

  • Insert an open ended zip

  • Reinforcing seams

  • Garment construction techniques and tips

  • Finishing

  • Materials: The pattern is included as well as snacks and refreshments. Tools, equipment and sundry notions such as threads are provided during the workshop. You are required to bring your own fabric.

    Moyna Hamilton studied clothing technology at London College of Fashion and immediately started her career in the fashion industry after she graduated working as a pattern cutter. For over 18 years she worked for a wide range of companies from independent designers to high street suppliers. After having children, she successfully set up and ran her own children’s bed linen and accessories company called Eazy-Tiger. More recently Moyna has been teaching sewing in different schools around London and has been with us now for over 6 years! She is pleased to be combining her years of teaching experience with her extensive knowledge in clothing to teach others the art of sewing, pattern cutting and dressmaking.
