This course is aimed at confident stitchers who have experience working with commercial patterns and constructing garments. If you’re ready to build on your skills and tackle more intricate sewing techniques, this is a great next step.

Across three weekly sessions, you’ll work through the process of making a button-front shirt or jacket, focusing on precision, professional finishes, and advanced garment construction methods.

  • Button stands and buttonholes

Preparation:

To make the most of your learning time, we ask that you cut out your pattern and fabric before the first session. We’ll provide details ahead of the course. Your teacher may also set small homework tasks between sessions.

Materials:

Sewing patterns are included, but you’ll need to bring your own fabric. Machines, equipment, and sundry materials such as basic thread colours and interfacing are provided.

Booking a class at Ray Stitch entitles you to 10% off everything in-store, with our team on hand to advise on fabric choices. (Valid up until the day of your class.)
