Patchwork for Beginners - Make a Quilt

  • Make a Selection

Maximum Class Size: 6

Level 3: Confident Beginners. For students who are comfortable using a sewing machine and have completed a few simple projects, such as tote bags, cushions, or pencil cases.

This one-day workshop is perfect for anyone ready to move beyond simple sewing projects and dive into the world of patchwork and quilting. You’ll be guided through the full process of making a small block quilt, approximately 1.1m x 1.1m, from designing and piecing your top layer to binding and finishing.

We’ll begin the day with a little inspiration to help you plan your layout, then cover rotary cutting, accurate piecing, layering with wadding, machine quilting techniques, and binding. You’ll also learn the basics of hand quilting for those who want to add extra detail at home.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a beautiful quilt top and the confidence to start more patchwork projects of your own.
